Challenge 2012

In Corde et Mente Communio: A Community of Hearts and Minds

Your public radio station has a New Year’s resolution: make pledge drives lean, trim and vibrant.

HPR members have a distinguished record of bringing these campaigns in on time within the allotted ten days. Thanks to you, this station spends fewer days fundraising over the air than other stations elsewhere. Building on this foundation, we’ve come up with a plan that will return you to regular programming even sooner.

The name of our bold new strategy is: the 80% solution.

In short, for Challenge 2012 we’ve set a goal to raise all of the funds needed to meet our budgeted target ($886,000) in 80% of the allotted time.

To accomplish this we need your help.

We estimate that we’d need to gather at least $150,000 in gifts before we go on the air to stay on track to finish the drive in 8 days. You can help us reach this early commitment target by making your personal pledge in advance of the April 11 on-air start of the campaign. Please ask someone you know who also cares about and enjoys public radio to give early as well.

Here’s another reason to pledge early: the HPR Board has gotten together and promised to give $15,000 in personal contributions when the early gift target is met, taking us even closer to the 80% solution.

Through your support you’ve already proven that station members truly exemplify the spirit of the theme for Challenge 2012 – in corde et mente communio. A Community of Hearts and Minds. That’s what and who we are.
