Later this week, keyboardist and songwriter from The Doors, Ray Manzarek, returns to Hawai`i – this time doing a four-island tour with slide guitarist/producer Roy Rogers. HPR’s Dave Lawrence spoke with him ahead of the visit. Unlike Scott Caan from TV show Hawai`i 5-0, Manzarek said he's a big fan of Hawaiian food.
Hear the complete interview with Ray Manzarek, find dates for the Manzarek-Rogers Band local concerts and listen to some music below.
They play Feb. 6th at KCC in Lihue, Feb. 7th at the Irish Rose in Waikiki, Feb. 8th at the Iao Theatre in Wailuku and Feb. 9th at the Honoka`a Peoples Theatre.
HPR-1 has been partially restored to O'ahu's North Shore and much of Kaua'i; we are working on an electrical problem at the Mt. Ka'ala site and once that's been resolved, repairs can be made to restore full HPR-1 signal strength. All other transmitters are operating normally.

Note on Hawaiian spellings:
In our print communications, HPR takes special care to include the ʻokina (glottal stop) and kahakō (macron) marks used in the proper spelling of Hawaiian words.
