APEC Profile: Thailand Deals with Floods Ahead of APEC

Heavy rains are flooding many parts of Thailand this week. Thousands of residents have fled the capital of Bangkok. And the government is declaring a five-day holiday across more than twenty provinces to allow people to move to safety. But severe weather is only one of the challenges Thailand faces.

As one of southeast Asia’s largest economies, Thailand plays an important role in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum. And it’s the subject of our next APEC profile. HPR’s Bill Dorman reports.
