The tsunami and earthquake of March 2011 devastated Japan’s people and its economy. By the time APEC leaders gathered in Honolulu in November, the economy was bouncing back—as both exports and consumer spending recovered faster than many had expected. But that momentum has not continued. We continue our series of reports on the top ten APEC economies a year after the Honolulu summit…and today HPR’s Bill Dorman looks at Japan.
