Laupahoehoe School Allowed to Open as Charter

The state board of education has made a final decision to let Laupahoehoe School open as a charter school in July. The decision was controversial—and three members of the state’s charter school review panel resigned in protest. From the Big Island, HPR’s Sherry Bracken has more.
