Earlier this month, organizers of the Haleiwa Farmers Market were told to cease all
operations due to violation of state highway code. Attorneys representing the market
and the state attorney general are meeting today to see if an agreement can
be reached before the final market day this weekend.
Technology innovators say futuristic fish
farms are planned off the coast of the Big Island, but opponents say the fish
pods will endanger the future of local fishermen. HPR takes a
look at the plans to move forward with the technology and community opposition
to it.

An ancient way of
life is getting a new look, thanks to a grant from the Office of Hawaiian
Affairs. A non-profit organization is using the funds for farming and for education.

Tibetan
spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, spoke to thousands of people in Hawai`i over
the past several days. HPR’s Nikki Motson collected some of their reflections
