The use of fresh water has long been a contentious issue in
various parts of the islands. On Molokai, one of the largest landowners in the
state is attempting to legalize its controversial method of transporting

The U.S. Marine Corps
says it won’t increase training activity in the Kalaupapa settlement. That’s a
change from its original plan, which is part of a broader proposal for an

There’s a lot of pressure on schools around the state to
meet Adequate Yearly Progress standards, implemented by the national No Child
Left Behind Act. This year, Molokai Middle School beat the pressure and joined three
other Molokai schools in meeting AYP.
