Hawaii County Officials Inaugurated

Hawaii County inaugurated its Mayor, its Council members, and its prosecutor at ceremonies yesterday at Afook Chinen Auditorium in Hilo.  The new Council also held its first meeting.  HPR's Sherry Bracken was on hand and tells us how things went.

Hawaii Play Re-enacts 1897 Petition Signing

The Hawaiian Civic Clubs are taking the lead in presenting a play based on an 1897 newspaper story about how Hawaii's residents reacted to America's annexation of the Hawaiian islands.  From the Big Island, HPR's Sherry Bracken tells us about the first presentation in North Hawaii.
