This weekend the Valley Isle hosts what is being called the first annual Maui Jazz and Blues Festival. Wailea will be treated to performances by jazz icons spanning styles and eras. HPR’s Dave Lawrence spoke to two of the legends appearing, Les McCann and Delfeayo Marsalis.
60’s British rockers The Yardbirds are in the islands right now. We sat down with them to talk story yesterday before their Honolulu date. Original members Jim McCarty and Chris Dreja spoke about how the contemporary line-up of the band has evolved.

Tomorrow night, popular Boston-area rockers Godsmack performs at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. HPR’s Dave Lawrence got a call from vocalist Sully Erna, who said that while this will be Godsmack’s debut concert in the islands, it’s not their first-time working in Hawai`i.
