Between full-time and part-time residents from the arts and culture world, Maui has a pretty impressive contingent of well-known artists and musicians that have adopted The Valley Isle as home; one of those folks is Sammy Hagar.

Tonight October 19th, at UH Hilo, Dr. Brian Schmidt, 2011 Nobel Laureate in Physics, – will speak on the Accelerating Universe… This discovery, of what is called “dark energy,” led to Dr. Schmidt’s 2011 Nobel Prize in Physics, for a remarkable discovery that the Universe is accelerating as it expands. He spoke with HPR’s Dave Lawrence.

Taj Mahal has been a force in music for decades: from the late 60’s, when he was featured in “The Rolling Stones’ Rock N’ Roll Circus” film, to opening for the 2011 Wynton Marsalis/Eric Clapton summit.
