Nuclear Test Questions Linger for Marshall Islands

Residents of the Marshall Islands may soon learn more about the nuclear tests the U.S. government conducted there more than fifty years ago. That word came from a senior State Department official who’s leading a delegation to several Pacific Islands. HPR’s Bill Dorman has more in today’s Asia Minute.

Diplomacy, Rhetoric and the South China Sea

Hawaii has just wrapped up its role hosting the Rim of the Pacific military exercises. The drills involved 22 countries, forty ships, half a dozen submarines and more than 200 aircraft. One country not involved in the event: China. But that hasn’t prevented the country from offering official commentary. HPR’s Bill Dorman has more in today’s Asia Minute.
