Residents of the Marshall Islands
may soon learn more about the nuclear tests the U.S. government conducted there
more than fifty years ago. That word came from a senior State Department
official who’s leading a delegation to several Pacific Islands.

Olympics will come to a close this Sunday. While there’s still a lot of
competition ahead this week, the view of the games from Asia is already a bit

Hawaii has just wrapped up its role hosting the Rim
of the Pacific military exercises. The drills involved 22 countries, forty
ships, half a dozen submarines and more than 200 aircraft. One country not
involved in the event: China.
But that hasn’t prevented the country from offering official commentary. HPR’s Bill Dorman has more in today’s Asia Minute.

comeback in Asia. A company from the Netherlands is
making a multi-billion dollar investment that also carries a good deal of
