Fans of "A Prairie Home Companion" have a chance to view an encore performance of the show from the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota, beamed in high-definition to the Regal Theatres Dole Cannery 18 in Honolulu and the Prince Kuhio Theaters 9 in Hilo at 8 pm. The 8th Annual Hilo Chinese New Year Festival kicks off with a parade at 8:30 am starting at the Mo`oheau Bus Station. It proceeds down Kamehameha Ave. and up Waianuenue Ave to Kalakaua Park. The festival opens at the park at 10 am, featuring entertainment, arts and crafts, cultural practitioners and an international food court.

MARCH 2010: The 2010 HMSA Teen Video Awards Contest challenges local students in middle and high schools to create public service announcements focusing on important teen health issues. Winners will be selected based on content, impact/effectiveness. creativity and videography. Winning videos will be broadcast on local TV stations. Deadline for submissions is MARCH 1, 2010. APRIL 2010: The Horkheimer/O'Meara Youth Journalism Award, named in honor of Stephen and Donna O'Meara, is open to young writers in the 8 - 14 age group. Entries will be judged on how the author takes a factual scientific event or discovery and writes an accurate story that is so exciting and informative readers will not want to put it down.
