HOT's final production of the 12-13 season, Tosca, opens on the 26th and runs for three performances. However, HOT has been very busy outside the production schedule, including the recent announcement of the hiring of a new Executive Director, and the new season, which begins next October with Puccini's Turandot, continues with a double bill of Pagliacci and Orff's Carmina Burana in a fully-staged version, and finishes with Gilbert & Sullivan's ebullient social satire The Mikado. download mp3 (59:00)

A strange new sculpture has been created in deepest Kaka'ako: it's called "A Small Area of Land," and it's completely created from dirt…just plain Hawaiian dirt, and it looks like (and is) a series of strata. It's a fascinating project, and the sculptor, Sean Connelly, explains his concept and how he carried it out. Trisha Legaso Goldberg, curator, and David Goldberg, the reality checker, join him to explain this unusual art project. download mp3 (59:00)
